Did you ever think that you would start practicing yoga from Monday, but never started? Procrastination may be the result of busy schedules or things not being organized in general. At Cityogini, we have put together a list of six simple habits that help us stay in line with our yoga practice.
Sleep on time
One of the simplest ways to develop any habit is to have a good routine. Make sure you have slept on time. Wake up fresh this way and don't want to skip your yoga practice for the day.
Keep your materials and yoga space ready beforehand
When you have a hectic schedule, not having things in order can be an enticing excuse to procrastinate. Nonetheless, you can probably prevent the issue if you eliminate menial tasks such as having to look for your workout clothes or yoga mat just before the session. Make sure you have everything ready beforehand. A basic rule to follow is to make sure you leave the space of yoga as it was when you started.
Invest in blocks and mats
Yoga blocks make a difference in your practice, especially if you start. Yoga blocks aim to provide you with the little extra comfort and encouragement that could make your yoga practice more enjoyable and efficient. Yoga mats are typically non-slippery and are easier to do on the floor than yoga. Investing in these simple materials can help you stay consistent.
Increase the pace slowly
Sometimes, we procrastinate more because of the goals we set for ourselves. It is always better to start small than not to start at all. You can start by setting a more feasible target, let's say, three days a week. You can always increase the frequency as you get more and more comfortable with the previous one. This way, you do not stress your body to do much and slowly get to the point where you want to be.
It does not have to be morning!
Sometimes we skip out on the yoga practices just because we plan on doing so early morning. Yoga does not necessarily have to be in the early morning. You can do yoga at any time of the day on an empty stomach if you do not have the time to spare in the morning.
Take part in online yoga classes
Having a class scheduled for the next day can be a motivation to get to that yoga practice. Taking part in a yoga class gives you a chance to communicate with people who can help you stay consistent. You can click here to book one of our live yoga classes to get started.
Lastly remember, staying consistent is not about practicing yoga every day. It is okay to skip sometimes when you really cannot make it. The key is to make sure that your little one day break does not break the habit. #yoga #stayConsistent #yogaAdvice #tips
